Our New Sunday Evening Service
Sunday Evening Services FAQs
What will be the format of the service?
It will be similar to the 9AM worship with less music, smaller band (it will most likely be a one or two people). So it will have worship in song, maybe one or two announcements, the preaching of the Word, communion, and a closing song.
Will there be anything different from the other services?
There could be times of corporate and intercessory prayer, ministry prayers, testimonies, perhaps question and answer sometimes after the message. The feel will be a bit "less formal," depending on the size of those gathered.
Will the sermons be the same as the morning service?
It will be a different message. It could be a continuation of the morning message but it will have different emphases. Or it could be a completely different message or series.
Whom do you expect to attend the Evening Service?
It could be some who want to spend the whole day in the corporate worship of the Lord, so some could attend both morning and evening services. It is possible that some might attend because for whatever reason, they were unable to attend a morning worship (shift work, vacation, travel, kids activities). It is also possible that those who do not attend Wellspring might be looking for an evening service to attend.
What time do you expect the service to start and end?
We think of the early church in Acts 2:42-47 which gathered for worship and literally ate together. Depending on the number of people who show up, it is quite possible that we will together prepare a simple dinner at the church to eat together. No promises, but these are the type of things we could consider.
Will this Evening Service ever end?
Like anything we do at Wellspring, including our existence as a church, we are always willing and open to open and close things as the Lord wills. So we will be running this as a pilot test run until the end of Spring (end of May) and then further evaluate whether the Lord is in this endeavor. From there, we will get a sense whether we keep it going or end it.
