Hands at Work

In 2005, a team of 5 men from Wellspring went to visit Hands at Work in South Africa. Little did they know that not only would they be forever changed by what they saw, they would bring back many stories of God’s heart for Africa. The following year, the president and founder of Hands at Work, George Snyman, would visit the United States for the first time. He would inspire others to go, and a second team from Wellspring visited in 2007. One woman on that team, Lauren Lee, was so moved that she initiated a American branch of Hands at Work, today now known as Hands at Work, USA.

Today, Wellspring partners with Hands at Work, Africa to care for Mcheneke, Malawi with our two partner churches, Christ Church and Grace Alameda. Along with our sister churches, we are providing three essential services, food, basic medical care, and education to 250 orphans and vulnerable children. We have also adopted Pimai C in Zimbabwe as a new community to support in 2019.

Iglesia Evangelica Bautista Vilafranca del Penedes

In 2016 Axis, Wellspring's youth ministry, traveled to the Barcelona, Spain area to put on our first English Camp. Spain, as a European country, has one of the least amount of Christians per capita, despite being a Catholic country. More and more people have turned to agnosticism at best to outright atheism in response to Catholic nominalism.

Iglesia Evangelica Bautista Vilafranca del Penedes is a church we partner with to provide a Gospel light in the Greater Barcelona area. English camps are a means by which together we build inroads to an increasingly secular society. Together, we share not only our desire to see people come to Jesus, but also our common hearts together to follow Christ to the ends of the earth. And so, with our sister church, Christ Church in San Francisco, our three churches continue to lead these camps so that the next generation of Catelonians would come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord.

Serge

In 2015, we were introduced to Steve Phillips by our sister churches, Christ Church and Grace Alameda. Steve is a church planter and mobilizer in Barcelona, Spain, and his heart is to see the gospel go forth in the Barcelona area, where less than 1% of the population are evangelical Christians. Serge’s website provides a brief history of its founding.

In 2021, we are also partnering with Carlan and Michelle Wendler who are also serving with Serge in Burundi. Carlan serves as a medical missionary, not only taking part in the first medical school established in Burundi, but also actively discipling future doctors both in medicine and the Gospel.
